Anna's tutoring
Tutoring Approach
When working with new students, I begin by reviewing their recent homework, quizzes, and tests to identify specific areas of difficulty.
Once we pinpoint problem areas, I focus on explaining the “why” behind the math, not just the steps. Students then practice by working through progressively more challenging versions of the problems they’re struggling with.
By the end of a session, students will:
• Have successfully worked through the most challenging version of the problem on their own
• Be able to explain the solution process back to me in their own words
• Leave with a personalized “cheat sheet” that includes key problems, strategies, and formulas for future reference
After each session, I also communicate with students and parents about next steps so we can continue strengthening areas of weakness and track progress over time.
